The big Karate event of the year is less than 100 days away. The countdown to the 2016 Karate World Championships has begun, and the tournament where the new kings and queens of Karate will be crowned is already on the horizon.

The big Karate event of the year is less than 100 days away. The countdown to the 2016 Karate World Championships has begun, and the tournament where the new kings and queens of Karate will be crowned is already on the horizon.

As the world of Karate is looking forward to living memorable moments in the next weeks, Karate fans have already marked in red in their calendars the start of the event where top Karatekas from all over the world will clash for glory.

The 23rd edition of the Karate World Championships will start in less than 100 days, the date that marks the kickoff of the countdown to the anticipated competition to be held in Linz (Austria). The best Karate athletes in the world will travel to the city in Upper Austria to try to win the coveted medals.

The tournament is set to start on October 25th. Hundreds of competitors will then clash for the title during five thrilling days of action. Karate fans are looking forward to cheering for their favourite stars, and the most fortunate ones will witness live the excitement of the best Karate bouts in TIPS Arena sports hall in Linz.

The two previous World Championships were successfully held in Bremen (Germany) and in Paris (France). Over 900 athletes from 116 countries participated in the 2014 edition, while nearly 1000 competitors from 116 nations took part in the 2012 tournament. The competition in Linz will follow the outstanding preceding events where the impressive magnitude of Karate was showcased.
