The stage is set for the third stop of the Karate 1 Premier League, the pinnacle of karate's international competition circuit. From April 19 to 21, Cairo, Egypt, will once again welcome the world's finest karatekas as they vie for supremacy in this prestigious tournament.

This year's event has attracted an impressive lineup, with 381 athletes from 59 countries registered to compete, including all the athletes competing to become the new Grand Winners of Karate 1. As the third leg of the season, the Cairo tournament holds significant importance in the race to crown the year's Best of the Best.

 

Egypt's capital, Cairo, serves as a fitting backdrop for this high-stakes competition, having previously hosted Karate 1 Premier League events in 2023 and 2021. Its rich history and passionate fan base provide the perfect setting for the drama and excitement that will unfold throughout the event.

 

At the last edition of the Cairo event in 2023, local karatekas showcased their prowess, alongside Ukrainian representatives, who both clinched three gold medals apiece. Olympians Kiyou Shimizu and Damian Quintero in Kata, World champions Steven Dacosta and Ayumi Uekusa in Kumite, and local representatives Taha Tarek Mahmoud and Reem Ahmed Salama were among the gold medallists in Cairo 2023.

 

The tournament schedule is packed with action, with eliminations taking place on Friday and Saturday from 09:00 to 20:30. The anticipation reaches its peak on Sunday as the medal bouts commence from 10:00 to 18:00, culminating in the highly anticipated finals starting at 15:30.
