After a week full of moments to remember, the WKF Youth Training Camp & Karate 1 Youth Cup came to an end on Sunday thus finishing the memorable festival of Youth Karate which took place in Umag (Croatia).

After a week full of moments to remember, the WKF Youth Training Camp & Karate 1 Youth Cup came to an end on Sunday thus finishing the memorable festival of Youth Karate which took place in Umag (Croatia). The ninth edition of the event that gathered young aspiring Karatekas from all over the world successfully demonstrated the impressive impact of the sport among youngsters.

The delegations from 56 countries and five continents participating in the event took the way back home after seven extraordinary days. It was time to collect memories, knowledge and experiences for over a thousand participants who enjoyed an event that will remain in the annals of the sport as a true celebration of Youth Karate.

Following the first three days of the event, in which youngsters had the opportunity to learn from six Karate legends, the last days of the Training Camp and Cup were devoted to the competition. The WKF Karate 1 Youth Cup showed impressive moments of action and gave young competitors the chance to put into practice all the knowledge acquired in the previous days.

No less than 87 categories were disputed in the WKF Karate 1 Youth Cup, as aspiring Karatekas showcased their surprising level for their young ages. Representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina topped the final podium of the competition after earning 19 medals (7 gold, 8 silver, 4 bronze). Spanish young Karatekas reached the second position of the final standings with a total of 12 medals (6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze), as host country of Croatia finished the event in third position with the largest tally of medals with 27 awards (5 gold, 9 silver, 3 bronze). Participants from 44 countries were awarded with medals in the thrilling competition.

With the crowning of the future stars of the sport, the impressive ninth edition of the WKF Youth Training Camp & Karate 1 Youth Cup ended in Umag.
