WKF President Antonio Espinós welcomed the president of the Karate Federation of The Netherlands Herman van der Meulen in the headquarters of the WKF in Madrid.

WKF President Antonio Espinós welcomed the president of the Karate Federation of The Netherlands Herman van der Meulen in the headquarters of the WKF in Madrid. The head of the Dutch federation travelled to the Spanish capital to pay a visit to the base of operations of world and European Karate to discuss with WKF President several key points of current Karate.

On Friday Mr. Espinós hosted a meeting with the leader of Dutch Karate Herman van der Meulen to debate the current status and actions for the development of the sport. The good cooperation between the WKF and KBN was emphasised during the gathering, where a focus was laid on sport and the plans for the future.

“We are always delighted to received delegations of national federations in our offices in Madrid, especially those who work intensively in promoting and developing our sport such as the Dutch federation. I am sure that with the help of president Herman van der Meulen Karate will continue its continued progress in the region,” declared WKF President Antonio Espinós.

Among many other first-class events, The Netherlands is home to the successful Karate 1-Premier League tournament which was held last March in Rotterdam. Nearly 700 Karatekas from 54 countries participated in this year’s edition of the top competition in the Dutch city.
