Asian rising stars to meet in Indonesia for thrilling event

The future of Asian Karate gathers this week in 15th edition of the Asian Cadet, Junior and Under 21 Championships to be held in Makassar (Indonesia). Nearly 500 youngsters from over 30 countries will clash for glory in a tournament to confirm the impressive influence of this ancient modality in the Asian continent.

Nearly 500 youngsters from over 30 countries will clash for glory in a tournament to confirm the impressive influence of this ancient modality in the Asian continent. 

After the successful last edition of the event celebrated in Malaysia two years ago, young Karatekas from all over the continent travel this time to the capital of the South Sulawesi region in Indonesia to shine in an anticipated championships. 

The competition starts on Friday with the first rounds of the 36 categories at stake, and the event will finish on Sunday with the closing ceremony. Expectations are high in the Indonesian Sulawesi Island ahead of the event, as the tournament is regarded as an opportunity to showcase Karate’s influence in the country and in the region. 

Karate’s upcoming stars in Asia are set to demonstrate their progression this week in Indonesia, as some of the top Karate nations will try to extend their domination in the continent. In the Asian Cadet, Junior and Under 21 Championships held two years ago in Malaysia, Iran stated their condition of major force of the sport after topping the final standings of the event with a tally of 24 medals. Japan, Kazakhstan and Malaysia also registered successful performances in the competition and will aim at repeating victories this week in Makassar. The event will also demonstrate the remarkable impact and passion of Karate among young athletes.
