Karate competition on 1st European Games is closed.

The 1st european games was held in Baku (Azerbaijan) during two days (13-14 June 2015). The Baku 2015 was the inaugural edition of the european games, an international multi-sport event for athletes representing the national olympic committees (NOCs) of Europe.

The karate competition consisted of 10 individual kumite events (fighting) and 2 individual technic event (kata). European best athletes (48 men and 48 women) was showcase their talents on the strikingly beautiful tatami of Crystal Hall arena. There was a total of 38 participating countries (out of a total of 53 European Karate Federation member countries), which is a very high representation of the continent. 

 

Concerning the classification of nations, Azerbaijan is the first nation to counter with 4 gold medals, 0 silver medals and 2 bronze medals for a total of 6 medals. Turkey ranks second (3/2/4), followed by France (2/2/1).
