Karate's popularity among youngsters to be showcased at Karate 1-Youth League Monterrey

The strength of Karate at young ages will be stated once again this weekend at the Karate 1-Youth League Monterrey. The event gathers young karatekas from all over the world, and it will be one more celebration of youth Karate.

The Karate 1-Youth League Monterrey is the third stop of the season of the series of international tournaments for youngsters. Nearly 700 karatekas aged 12 to 20 coming from 34 countries have confirmed their participation at the event. 

The competition is scheduled from September 27 to 29. The future stars of the sport will compete in the 32 categories at stake. It will be an opportunity for the major powerhouse nations of the sport to demonstrate the efficiency of their grass-root programmes at the highest level. 

Russia and Egypt top the medal table of the 2019 Karate 1-Youth League after two events with seven gold medals respectively. Japan and Ukraine both with six gold medals are also presenting deserving performances. No less than 22 countries have claim top awards at the event this year. 

The 2019 Karate 1-Youth League started in Limassol (Cyprus) and continued in Umag (Croatia). After the event in Monterrey, the series of events will go to Venice-Jesolo (Italy) where the season will conclude.
