The WKF and the Italian Karate Family regret to inform on the demise of Mr.Andrea Nekoofar. Young and promising Italian top karateka Mr. Nekofar died on Thursday at age 20. 

The WKF and the Italian Karate Family regret to inform on the demise of Mr.Andrea Nekoofar. Young and promising Italian top karateka Mr. Nekofar died on Thursday at age 20. 

Born in the city of Milan, Andrea Nekoofar was one of the most promising talents of Italian Karate. Barely a month ago, the young karateka had won the gold medal in the Kata Male U21 category at the 2017 WKF Youth Cup in Umag (Croatia). The competitor who was enlisted at the Italian Army Sports Centre was scheduled to compete at the Karate 1-Premier League in Leipzig/Halle in September and was preparing to earn the qualification to participate at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.    

Son of Jimmy Nekoofar and the national coordinator of Karate Csen Delia Piralli, Andrea Nekoofar was a student of the Catholic University and had Karate as his true passion. The WKF sends heartfelt condolences to family and friends and joins the Italian Karate family in mourning the loss of the young karateka who will be greatly missed.
