Featuring a record-breaking number of participants, the 2017 edition of the Karate 1-Premier League Paris to be held in the French capital from January 27-29 promises to be a historic spectacle. 

Featuring a record-breaking number of participants, the 2017 edition of the Karate 1-Premier League in Paris to be held in the French city from January 27-29 promises to be a historic spectacle. 

With 12 days to go for the closing of the inscription of athletes, no less than 1096 competitors from 77 nations have already confirmed their participation in one of the flagship events of international Karate. This figure far exceeds the tally of competitors that took part in the memorable 2016 edition of the tournament, as 911 Karatekas from 72 countries competed last year in Pierre de Coubertin Stadium sports hall. 

The event is on the way to break records of participation and to set new bars in terms of popularity of the competition since the rest of the numbers are also staggering. Over 300 clubs will be represented in Paris, and 133 coaches from 86 countries are registered to participate. The thrilling bouts will be controlled by over 150 referees, while the stands are expected to fill up during the three days of the tournament as in previous editions. 

From a sporting point of view, the annual showdown of the best Karate in Paris is also guaranteed to be an exciting affair. World champions, World ranking leaders and Karatekas from all over the world are expected to shine in an event that will display Karate’s exponential impact. Eight of the 12 current World Champions in individual categories have already completed their registration for the event, thus ensuring unforgettable moments in Paris.

It comprises of a number of the most prominent Karate competitions and endeavours to bring together the best Karate athletes in the world in open championships of unprecedented scale and quality. The cities of Paris (France), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Dubai (UAE), Rabat (Morocco) and Halle/Leipzig (Germany) are the stops of this year’s edition.
