Swiss karatekas showcased the impact of the sport in the European country with the celebration of a massive National Karate Day.  

Nearly a thousand competitors gathered for the first tournament of the Swiss Karate League which was held in the city of Sursee. As the event crowned the upcoming stars the sport in the country, Swiss Karate family took the opportunity to show their support to the ancient discipline in its many challenges ahead while also demonstrating the contribution of the Swiss Karate Federation to the upcoming 2017 World Karate Day.  

Among the many displays throughout the momentous day, over 150 young karatekas from under 12 and under 14 categories formed with coloured hats to create the five Olympic rings. All the referees at the event also took the time to express their support with a dedicated banner.
