The 42nd EKF Junior & Cadet & U21 Championships is closed

During 3 days (6-8 February 2015), the young karate elite from 48 European nations has taken place in Zurich (Switzerland). 955 young and ambitious competitors shown challenging forms (kata) and attractive fights (kumite). The young karatekas from 14 to 21 years demonstrated a lot of spirit, engagement, passion, and fair play during these days.

During 3 days (6-8 February 2015), the young karate elite from 48 European nations has taken place in Zurich (Switzerland). 955 young and ambitious competitors shown challenging forms (kata) and attractive fights (kumite). The young karatekas from 14 to 21 years demonstrated a lot of spirit, engagement, passion, and fair play during these days.

 

With 35 categories divide in 3 ages (Cadet, Juniors and U21) and 1108 matches, European championship is one of the most attractive competition in the world, with world championship (link) and Karate1 Premier league (link) tournaments.

 

Concerning the classification of nations, the major countries of the European Karate were present. France is the first European nation to counter with 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 7 bronze medals for a total of 19 medals. Italy ranks second (7/3/6), followed by Turkey (6/2/4). Switzerland, the host country, is positioned in 5th place behind Spain (2/1/4).

 

 

Throw the Closing Ceremony, Antonio Espinos, President of EKF and WKF, and Mr. Roland Zolliker, President of Swiss Karate Federation, transmitted the flag to Mr. Andreas Vassiliou, President of Cyprus Karate Federation, for the purpose of organization of 43 EKF Junior & Cadet & U21 Championships in 2016. The host city is Limassol (Cyprus).
