WKF President Antonio Espinós visited the headquarters of the National Olympic Committe of Kosovo on Friday and met with the president of the national sports organisation Besim Hasani.

WKF President Antonio Espinós visited the headquarters of the National Olympic Committe of Kosovo on Friday and met with the president of the national sports organisation Besim Hasani.

In his first visit to Kosovo, Mr. Espinós gathered with Mr. Hasani following the celebration in Prishtina of the 15th EKF Karate Championships for Regions. The two leaders evaluated the situation of the sport in the country and analysed the remarkable growth of Karate in the region.  The head of Karate’s governing body took the opportunity to thank Mr. Hasani for his support to the sport and to the WKF.

“We are honoured to have an ally and a friend in Mr. Hasani. His assistance has been essential in the development of Karate in the region, and for that, we will always be grateful,” said Mr. Espinós, who also praised the efforts of the Kosovo Karate Federation.

“Many thanks also to the national federation President Ismet Krasnicki for his hard work and for his leadership in the organisation in Kosovo of a continental event such as this EKF Championships for Regions. I would also like to point out that Kosovo will host the EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships in 2022, which is the biggest competition for EKF; I am very pleased and grateful for that, as I know the tremendous effort it takes for the national federation to organise these events,” added WKF and EKF President.
