The Karate 1-Premier League event held in Rabat this weekend confirmed the domination of Moroccan Karatekas as representatives of the organizing country claimed the top positions of the final standings of the tournament thus completing the excellent performance of local heroes in the two-days competition.

The Karate 1-Premier League event held in Rabat this weekend confirmed the domination of Moroccan Karatekas in the sixth event of the top Karate international competition, as representatives of the organizing country claimed the top positions of the final standings of the tournament after two successfull days of action.

The sensational showdown of Moroccan Karatekas continued in the second and final day of the event, and the host country topped the standings of the event with a tally of 28 medals, six gold, five silver and 17 bronze awards.

Following the three gold medals achieved in the first day of competition, local Karatekas reached the top of the podium in three more categories. Zahrae Fatima Aghardis dominated in Female Kumite +68kg, while the host nation earned gold in Male Team Kata. Local hopeful Achraf Ouchen demonstrated his domination in Male Kumite +84kg and added the gold medal in Rabat to his golden performances in Karate 1-Premier League in Sharm El-Sheikh and in the World Junior, Cadet and U21 Championships in Indonesia, thus winning the condition of one of the stars of the event in the Moroccan city.

Austrian team in Female Kata, Italy's Silvia Semeraro in Female Kumite -68kg and France's Amin Bouazza in Male Kumite ´84kg were also crowned in the second day in Rabat.

Following the success of Moroccan Karatekas, representatives of Saudi Arabia also signed memorable performances in the Multi-purpose stadium Prince Moulay Abdellah this weekend, as Saudi Karate athletes ended with a tally of seven medals in the tournament.

The outstanding event in Rabat represented the sixth competition of the season of the 2016 Karate 1-Premier League. The first-class international Karate tournament started in Paris (France) in January and has travelled to Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Dubai (UAE) and Salzburg (Austria) to continue in Rabat (Morocco), The first ever Karate 1-Premier League in the Moroccan city has confirmed the passion for the sport in the region, and it left memorable moments for Karate. The next stage of Karate 1-Premier League will be celebrated in Istanbul (Turkey) from September 3-4.
