Karate elite to attend Karate 1-Premier League in Paris as countdown continues

The Karate 1-Premier League in Paris is less than 20 days away. The start of the inaugural tournament of the season is fast approaching as the elite of the sport has confirmed their participation in one of the most anticipated Karate events of the year.   

The 2018 Karate 1-Premier League in Paris is less than 20 days away. The start of the inaugural tournament of the season is fast approaching as first-class competitors have confirmed their participation in one of the most anticipated Karate events of the year.   

The best karatekas in the world will gather in Paris (France) from January 26 to 28 in the opening competition of the season. Nearly 800 athletes from no less than 80 countries have already confirmed their participation in the event. The first tournament of the year of Karate 1-Premier League will be a massive celebration of the sport and it will showcase the best of the best of the discipline. 

While the registration process is still ongoing and it will close on January 11th, all the categories in male competition and three of the six categories of the female competition have completed the mark of 64 participants. World champions, Grand Winners and Karate Stars are already registered to compete in Paris. 

All the defending World champions will clash for gold at Pierre de Coubertin sports hall in Paris, including local idols Alexandra Recchia in Female Kumite -50kg and Emilie Thouy in Female Kumite -55kg. Japan’s Ryo Kiyuna and Kiyou Shimizu in Kata and Ayumi Uekusa and Ryutaro Araga in Kumite are the world title-holders of the birth-nation of the sport competing in Paris. 

The current Grand Winners are also set to shine in the French capital since all but one of the top karatekas of the last edition of Karate 1-Premier League will participate in the event. World ranking leaders Sandra Sanchez and Damian Quintero in Kata, up-and-coming star Sadriddin Saymatov and China’s Xiaoyan Yin are among the Grand Winners hoping to cause a sensation in the highly anticipated tournament.
