Beyond the glamour of the Olympic stage, many world-class athletes work around-the-clock to fund their Olympic dream. Day Jobs presented by Bridgestone, invites viewers beyond the field of play and into the personal lives of 15 athletes as they balance work, home and sport in pursuit of the Olympic dream. The new original series premieres Monday, 27 November on the Olympic Channel global digital platform, and is available at olympicchannel.com and on its mobile apps.

In the eighth episode of the new series, European champion and World Championships silver medallist Paula Rodríguez tells how her Karate skills help her job as fire-fighter. Born in the Spanish city of Alcala de Henares near Madrid, the 31-year-old karateka won the silver medal at the 2016 World Championships. Together with teammates Gema Morales and Margarita Morata, Paula Rodriguez took the second place of the final podium in Female Team Kata at Karate’s biggest event. Previously, the fire-fighting karateka was crowned European champion in Female Team Kata at the 2016 edition of the continental tournament. In individual competition, Paula Rodriguez became European champion in the category of Cadet Kata at the 2003 European Cadet & Junior Championships and won bronze medal at the 2003 World Cadet & Junior Championships.
