Much focus in the meeting of the Executive Committee was put on the Extraordinary Congress being underway later on Tuesday in Tenerife. The Committee approved the agenda previously drafted for the Congress while endorsing remarkable measures to continue the progress of the sport. The different reports to be showed at the congress were reviewed and the committee analysed a series of relevant issues to be presented for approval to the plenary session.

The decision-making body of the WKF also rubber-stamped the competition calendar to be ratified by the Congress. This calendar shows a year full of top karate events and thrilling opportunities to show Karate’s strength.

“I would like to sincerely thank all of my colleagues for their continuous support, commitment and dedication to the WKF and the work of our Karate family. Though we know there is still room for improvement, we can draw the line on memorable years, while knowing that the best for Karate is yet to come,” said Mr. Espinós.
