WKF President discusses development of Karate with chairman of Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee

WKF President Antonio Espinós met His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz in Saudi Arabia to analyse the current situation of the sport and the progress of Karate in the region. His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz is the President of the General Authority for Sport and chairman of Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and welcomed Mr. Espinós in Jeddah. 

WKF President Antonio Espinós met His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz in Saudi Arabia to analyse the current situation of the sport and the progress of Karate in the region. His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz is the President of the General Authority for Sport and chairman of Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, and welcomed Mr. Espinós in Jeddah. 

The head of Karate’s international governing body travelled to Saudi Arabia to participate in high-profile meetings with major sports authorities in the region. Mr. Espinós was accompanied by WKF Vice President Nasser Alrazooqi, WKF 3rd Vice President Bechir Cherif and WKF Executive Committee member and President of the Saudi Arabia Karate Federation Ibrahim Al Gannas. 

Among the topics on the agenda were the international relations between the two sports organisations and the Olympic prospects of Karate. As the WKF continues showcasing the many added values that the sport is bringing to the Olympic movement, the crucial role of Karate in Middle Eastern countries was highlighted at the meeting. Karate is one of the most popular sports in the region, and the growing relevance of the discipline in Saudi Arabia was reviewed at the gathering, together with plans to expand the successful organisation of major Karate events in the area. 

"It was a great pleasure to meet His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Bin Abdulaziz and discuss with him the development of Karate around the world and in Saudi Arabia. We are going to continue our cooperation in order to further promote our sport in the region. We are very honoured to have his assistance in the many challenges that we have ahead of us, and we hope that with his help, we can continue achieving our goals,” said WKF President Antonio Espinós.
