WKF President meets Chilean Olympic Committee President ahead of #KarateSantiago2019

WKF President Antonio Espinós met with the Chilean Olympic Committee President Miguel Ángel Mújica on Tuesday as the 2019 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships is about to start. The measures taken to guarantee the normal development of the event amid the situation of unrest in the ry were the main topic of the agenda of the meeting. 

WKF President Antonio Espinós met with the Chilean Olympic Committee President Miguel Ángel Mújica on Tuesday as the 2019 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships is about to start. The measures taken to guarantee the normal development of the event amid the situation of unrest in the ry were the main topic on the agenda. 

The 2019 edition of the World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships is scheduled to take place in Polideportivo Estadio Nacional in Santiago (Chile) from October 23 to 27. The event has been altered by the protests that have shaken the ry over the last days. The president of the Chilean Olympic Committee stated that provisions are being implemented to ensure the safety of all the members of the Karate family at the championships. 

Mr Espinós was welcomed by Mr Mújica at the headquarters of the Chilean Olympic Committee in Santiago. The Chilean Karate Federation president María Angélica Coronil also attended the meeting. 

“I was pleased to sit with Mr Mújica and see his commitment to the success of the event in Santiago despite the situation of unrest in the ry. I hope that with his support and the collaboration of local authorities, the event will be a true celebration of youth Karate. I am sure that regardless of the unusual situation in the ry, competitors will find the best conditions to perform at the highest level ,” said WKF President Antonio Espinós.
